Is This Guide for You?

Switching platforms is a significant decision. Here's when it makes sense — and when staying on MATCHi may be better.

The 4% Service Fee Is Eating Into Revenue

MATCHi charges a 4% service fee on every court and activity booking — and it's non-refundable even if the player cancels. For a club doing €50,000/month in bookings, that's €2,000/month or €24,000/year. Book & Go has a flat subscription with zero per-booking commissions.

You Want Your Own Branded App, Not a Marketplace Listing

MATCHi is a shared player app where your club is one listing among many — players see every competitor in your area. Book & Go gives you a native iOS/Android app published under your club name. Your players download YOUR app, never see competitors, and build loyalty with your brand.

You Need Customer Data Ownership

On the MATCHi marketplace, players belong to MATCHi — not you. You can't export data, can't run direct email campaigns, can't build a unified CRM across locations. With Book & Go, you own 100% of player data, emails, and booking history — full control, no lock-in.

Expanding Beyond Nordic/European Markets

MATCHi operates in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Sweden, and Thailand. If you're planning international expansion or already operate outside these markets, Book & Go supports multi-language, multi-currency deployment worldwide.

An honest take

When Staying on MATCHi May Be Better

You Depend on Nordic Marketplace DiscoveryIf you're a new club with no existing customer base and rely heavily on walk-in traffic from the MATCHi player network (especially in Sweden, Denmark, or Netherlands), the marketplace provides valuable player acquisition. Verify with MATCHi how much of your booking volume comes from marketplace discovery vs returning members.
Your Revenue Model Is Membership-HeavyMATCHi does not charge the 4% service fee on memberships, subscriptions, value cards, or punch cards. If your club generates most revenue from recurring memberships rather than per-booking transactions, the effective commission is lower. Calculate your actual service fee cost before switching.
You're Not Ready to Own MarketingWith Book & Go, you control the app and customer data — which means you also own player acquisition, retention campaigns, and push notifications. If you're not ready to take on that responsibility, a marketplace model may be easier in the short term.

Assessment & Planning

1-2 weeks
  • Inventory all courts, facilities, and court-specific rules
  • Export member database (contact Book & Go + MATCHi support for export options)
  • List active memberships, recurring billings, and access rules
  • Document open bookings (next 30-60 days)
  • Audit active payment methods, wallet credits (value cards/punch cards), and outstanding balances
  • Calculate actual service fee cost (4% × court/activity bookings) vs flat subscription
  • Review MATCHi contract for notice requirements or early termination fees
  • Assign internal champion and backup contact

Data Export: What to Expect

No automated one-click migration exists. Here's the reality of what data can be moved and how.

Data typeHow it movesMigration reality
Member Contact DetailsCSV importRequest from MATCHi support or export via admin panel if available. Book & Go can import via CSV (name, email, phone, membership tier).
Booking HistoryUpcoming 30–60 daysHistorical booking data may be limited. Focus on importing upcoming bookings (next 30-60 days) to honor commitments.
Court & Facility ConfigRecreate manuallyManually recreate court setup in Book & Go (names, operating hours, pricing). No automated export from MATCHi.
Membership Tiers & RulesRecreate with CSDocument active membership types, benefits, and billing cycles. Recreate in Book & Go with CS help.
Wallet Balances (Value Cards/Punch Cards)No direct transferNo direct transfer. Options: honor balances manually in Book & Go wallets, or run down existing credits on MATCHi before cutover.
Coach ProfilesRecreate accountsRecreate coach accounts in Book & Go. No bulk import tool; typically 5-20 coaches per club.

Important: Book & Go customer success handles data import coordination. Contact both Book & Go and MATCHi support to request export assistance. Note: players registered in the MATCHi marketplace belong to the MATCHi ecosystem; with Book & Go, you own 100% of player data.

Bring your members along

Member Communication Plan

Clear, frequent communication is critical. Here's a proven 6-week campaign from first announcement to post-launch check-in.

Pro Tip: Use email, in-app push notifications, WhatsApp groups, and in-club posters. Redundant communication is good — many members only read the 3rd or 4th message.

Go-live day

Cutover Day Checklist

The day you flip the switch. Here's what needs to happen.

Rollback Plan: Keep MATCHi credentials active for 7 days after cutover in case you need to revert. Most clubs never need it, but having the option reduces risk.

Cutover · Day 18 / 8 done
  • Final member data sync (any new signups during dual-run)
  • Activate payment processing on Book & Go (Stripe/Revolut under your account)
  • Staff briefed: all bookings now Book & Go only
  • MATCHi booking engine paused or redirected
  • In-club signage updated (QR codes, app download posters)
  • Email + push notification sent: "We're live"
  • Monitor first-day transaction volume and support tickets
  • Backup plan: MATCHi credentials kept active for 7 days in case of rollback
After launch

First 30 Days: What to Watch

The first month is critical. Here's what to monitor and optimize.

  • 01Daily monitoring: bookings, payments, occupancy, support tickets
  • 02Re-engagement campaign for members who haven't downloaded the app
  • 03Push notification cadence: weekly tips, promotions, new features
  • 04Review analytics: peak times, court utilization, no-show rates
  • 05Staff feedback session: what's working, what needs improvement
  • 06Calculate actual savings vs 4% MATCHi service fee
  • 07Plan first owned-marketing push (email campaign, loyalty program launch)

Success Metric: Day 30

from this guide

By day 30, you should see 80%+ of active members using the new app, occupancy levels matching or exceeding pre-switch rates, and positive feedback on push notifications and new features.

Where MATCHi Still Wins

Honest assessment: the areas where MATCHi's marketplace model remains strong.

BelgiumDenmarkFinlandNetherlandsNorwayRomaniaSwedenThailand

Strong Nordic/European Marketplace Network

MATCHi has an established player base across Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Sweden, and Thailand. If your club is in these markets — especially Sweden, Denmark, or Netherlands — the MATCHi marketplace offers player discovery and cross-venue visibility.

DiscoveryCROSS-CLUB VISIBILITYMarketplacePlayer search

Player Discovery & Marketplace Exposure

The shared MATCHi app gives clubs exposure to players searching for courts in their area. If your club is new or wants walk-in traffic from the MATCHi player base, the marketplace model provides discovery you would not get with a standalone app.

MembershipsSubscriptionsValue cards

No Fee on Memberships or Subscriptions

MATCHi does not charge the 4% service fee on memberships, subscriptions, value cards, or punch cards. If your revenue model is membership-heavy rather than per-booking, the effective commission is lower.

Why Switch from MATCHi →
How long does the full migration take?
Most clubs complete the migration in 4-8 weeks from kickoff to cutover. The timeline includes setup, member onboarding, a dual-run period, and final cutover. Clubs with complex integrations or large member bases may need 8-12 weeks.
Can I run MATCHi and Book & Go in parallel during the transition?
Yes. Many clubs run both systems for 2-4 weeks while members transition. During this period, freeze long-horizon bookings on MATCHi (bookings beyond the cutover date) to avoid conflicts. Note that you'll pay the 4% service fee on MATCHi bookings during dual-run.
What happens to existing MATCHi bookings?
All bookings made before cutover are honored. Book & Go imports upcoming reservations (next 30-60 days) so members see their existing bookings in the new app.
How do we migrate member wallet balances (value cards/punch cards)?
Wallet balances cannot be automatically transferred. Options: (1) manually credit wallets in Book & Go based on MATCHi export, or (2) allow members to spend down MATCHi credits before cutover.
Do we need to notify MATCHi before switching?
Review your MATCHi contract for notice requirements. Some agreements have notice periods or early termination fees. Contact MATCHi support to discuss your exit plan and verify with vendor before finalizing.
What if our members refuse to switch?
Resistance is rare when migration is well-communicated. Key tactics: (1) early preview access for loyal members, (2) emphasize benefits (your brand, no 4% fee, new features), (3) in-club support during first week. Most clubs see 80%+ adoption within 2 weeks.
How much will we actually save by leaving MATCHi?
Calculate your actual service fee cost: 4% × monthly court and activity booking revenue. For example, €50,000/month in bookings = €2,000/month or €24,000/year in service fees (non-refundable even on cancellations). Compare that to Book & Go's flat subscription to see your savings.
What happens to our player data when we leave MATCHi?
Players on the MATCHi marketplace are part of the MATCHi ecosystem. With Book & Go, you own 100% of player data, emails, and booking history from day one. If you ever switch platforms again, your data comes with you — no lock-in.
